The Social problem :

Millions of trees are cut every day in India and not even 30% are replanted. Of those 30% planted, 50% die within the first month due to lack of maintenance, rest somehow survive considering the condition they are planted in. The removal of trees and deforestation has a significant negative impact on both local environments and the broader issue of climate change. Loss of critical habitats for plant and animal species. Soil erosion is common and harms agriculture and water quality. Deforestation disrupts the rainfall patterns and leads to changes in precipitation causing droughts. The stored carbon is released back into the atmosphere, contributing to higher levels of CO2 and other greenhouse gases. It leads to rising global temperatures, more extreme weather events, and other climatic disruptions. It increases air pollution. Communities that rely on forests for their livelihoods can face economic hardships when forests are depleted.

The Social solution:

To mitigate these problems and combat climate change, it's crucial to protect and preserve existing forests, reforest areas that have been cleared, and plant more trees. Trees and forests are essential in sequestering carbon, regulating local climates, and maintaining ecological balance, all of which contribute to a healthier planet and a more sustainable future. Team Jijiwisha in the past years has planted over 10500 saplings. Of these, over 9500 saplings are alive and are being maintained by local authorities and team Jijiwisha. Amongst these 9500 saplings, over 3000 have grown over 30 feet and over 500 have already started yielding fruits such as mango, guava, blackberries, papaya, amla, pomegranate, custard apple, lemon etc. Team JiJiwisha with your support wants to plant another 2000 or more saplings and maintain it for the next 3 years. The plantation project will be carried out on government land.
