The Social problem :

India witnesses 50000 to 60000 new childhood Cancer cases each year. People from low-income background are usually uneducated and hence cancer cases are treated as a taboo. People have multiple beliefs when it come to a female having cancer in the low-income family. Women in low-income houses have been taught to take care of their husbands, family, children, and then to her self at the end. Leading to which females from low-income background ignore any kind of medical assistance are required from time to time. Ignorance of medical assistance leads to many more severe problem including death. Due to the ignorance of medical issues, more than 40000 deaths were seen in the year 2019 in India. Of all the cancer patient girls who are admitted to hospitals, right nutrition is not provided to them by the care givers. Thousands of cancer patients in India lose their battle because their bodies are malnourished and too weak to integrate the aggressive treatment of cancer.

The Social solution:

Team Sanjeevani Life Beyond Cancer, through CanAhaar Project have taken the initiative to provide nutritional supplement boxes to underprivileged young female cancer patients. The Nutritional Supplement Box is a specially crafted to meet the nutritional needs of the cancer patients. It contains mixed nuts, Jaggery, puffed rice, chikki, turmeric, and spices (cinnamon, clove, peppercorns). Currently the program is enriching the lives of underprivileged cancer patients at 6 (of the 18) Regional Cancer Centres that we work in, namely Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Bikaner, Hyderabad, and Visakhapatnam. Team Sanjeevani aims to make the Nutritional Supplement Box available these at all 18 centres. The aims is to help female cancer patients put up a harder fight with nutritious food supplements.
