HIMANSHU 'S CAMPAIGN TO TRAIN HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS TO ENCOURAGE TOBACCO USERS TO QUIT TOBACCO.
I am running a crowdfunding campaign to provide training to 100 healthcare professionals on how to do cessation. An estimated 1.4 million people died due to tobacco consumption in India. Approximately 267 million adults in India use tobacco in some form and is a major public health issue in India as it is associated with numerous health problems and premature deaths. Team SIPHER aims to conduct capacity-building workshops with 100 or more Health Care Professionals on how to do tobacco cessation. The aim is to encourage Healthcare professionals to motivate tobacco user patients to quit and save them from all Non-Communicable Diseases including Cancers. Approximately 267 million adults in India use tobacco in some form and is a major public health issue in India as it is associated with numerous health problems and premature deaths. Some of the common health problems associated with tobacco use include cancer, Cardiovascular diseases, Respiratory diseases, Reproductive health problems, Oral health problems, Vision problems, addiction, financial burden, and social stigma Tobacco consumption is a major public health issue in India, and it disproportionately affects poor families. While poor families in India mostly use tobacco, they also bear a greater burden of the health and economic consequences of tobacco use. Some of the key problems associated with tobacco consumption in poor families in India include Economic burden, Inter-generational impact, Social stigma, and more.
Team SIPHER aims to conduct capacity-building workshops with 100 or more Health Care Professionals on how to do tobacco cessation. The Health Care Professionals could be from a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, private practices, and community health centers. The aim is to encourage Healthcare professionals to be proactive in motivating tobacco user patients to quit and save them from all Non-Communicable Diseases including Cancers. Tobacco cessation refers to the process of quitting the use of tobacco products, such as cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, and snuff. It involves a combination of strategies and supports to help individuals overcome their dependence on tobacco and quit using it permanently. Tobacco cessation can have numerous benefits for an individual's health, including reducing the risk of heart disease, stroke, lung cancer, and other health problems associated with tobacco use.
STRATEGIC INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATION AND RESEARCH is an innovative public health institute that aims to develop, design and conduct capacity-building programs for healthcare professionals overall development of society.
Contribution of as little as Rs. 3000/- or more from you will help SIPHER train one or more health care professionals on how to do tobacco cessation. The aims is to encourage Healthcare professionals to motivate tobacco user patients to quit tobacco.
The funds collected will be given to SIPHER who will use it towards renting space for training, food for the health care professionals, and other admin related cost to successfully execute the training. Volunteers are welcome to visit the training.
You will receive an 80G receipt in 7 days after the campaign is closed. Foreign contribution is allowed too. You will receive details of how money was spent in 6 months after the campaign is closed from SIPHER.
