SOCIAL PROBLEM YOUTH ON THE MOVE IS ADDRESSING
Women make up 48 percent of the Indian population but have not benefitted equally from India's rapid economic growth. Sixty-five percent of women are literate.

India has amongst the lowest female labor force participation rates in the world. Less than a third of women (15 years or older) are working or actively looking for a job. More than 90% of women from low-income backgrounds depend on their husband's income. More than 90% of the families in low-income backgrounds rely on neighbors for ration supplies. One of the reasons, girls from low-income backgrounds get married at an early age is because families find a female in the family a burden to keep feeding for the rest of their life.

For a family from low-income backgrounds, a female has to first look at her husband needs, then children's needs, then in-laws and then if somethings remaining, it is for her. Females are considered to be great home managers, however, the same female never enjoys financial freedom.
