While many childhood cancers can be successfully treated, thousands of families struggle to complete the journey because of financial, emotional, and social challenges.
Most specialised treatment centres are in major cities, forcing families to travel long distances and stay away from home for months.
Although treatment in government hospitals is subsidised, families still spend around ₹5 lakh on diagnostic tests, medicines, travel, accommodation, and other essential expenses.
For many, this means exhausting their savings, losing income, or even stopping treatment midway. The burden goes beyond finance. Parents face constant fear and uncertainty, while children miss school, lose their daily routine, and spend months in hospitals away from friends and family.
Children need emotional support, financial guidance, and someone to stand beside them throughout their journey toward recovery.
