According to a NSO report, 62.9% of students drop out during their high school years. Despite going through 10 years of the formal education system, students from weaker sections of society are unable to leverage their education and tap into their potential due to lack of guidance.

Government schools mostly follow a traditional method of teaching that only involves rote learning. Due to the RTE act, students in government schools until 8th grade are not supposed to fail, and hence for many students passing 9th grade and 10th grade become almost impossible as they have not learned anything.

For students willing to pursue further studies, feel too much pressurized and ends up dropping out. Many of them may drop out believing that it is better to take up an odd job than continue their education and some of them end up following the footsteps of their peers believing that such a professional option is safe rather than what interests them.
