You will be volunteering your skills and time to manufacture Bio-degradable and 100% Organic napkins and distribute napkins to over 50000 women from rural per month.
All it takes is 15 to 30 minutes of your free time daily for the next 14 days to provide sanitary napkins to women from rural India.
The problem Our Youth Social Community is addressing:
Nearly 88% women from Rural India donât use sanitary napkins. Instead, they use old cloths, muds, leaves or anything they find which can prevent the flow and collect menstrual blood.
Sanitary pads for women from rural India is an expense on their pockets due to 95% earning members of the family being daily wage earners and availability few few employment opportunities. A regular pad not only has harmful chemicals such as bleaching power and dioxins which cause some serious problems such as cervical cancer, reproductive issue etc, but also takes as long as 800 years to decompose naturally.
Over 70% adolescent girls going to regular government school, drop out from their school as soon as they start menstruating. These girls cannot afford sanitary pads and the school toilets are not hygienic enough for girls. The regular pad also take a longer time to compost.
