There are more than 35 million stray animal on the streets of India and the population is multiplying rapidly. The increase in the population of stray animals is not only affecting people living nearby but largely affects the animals themselves.
Almost 50000 to 100000 stray animals are killed or die everyday either by road accidents, lack of food, bullies, poor medical condition, and more.
Over 50% of the stray animals are not sterilised, resulting to increase in population. Government either is mass killing stray animals, or placing them to another location if the complaint arises in one location or feeds them to wild animals in national parks.
100s animals are abandoned or injured on the streets of Mumbai each month. Most of these animals get left as they are without notice or treatment for days until the injury becomes detrimental or even fatal.
