SHIMIT CAMPAIGN TO EMPOWER WOMEN THROUGH SKILL TRAINING AND SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD
I am running an online fundraising campaign to empower Women through Skill Training and Sustainable Livelihoods Initiative. Women from low-income backgrounds face multiple barriers to skill development and employment, including limited access to education, societal norms, and economic constraints, perpetuating poverty and limiting economic mobility. Shimit Foundation's skill training centre empowers low-income women with sewing skills, providing meals and flexible work arrangements, enabling them to earn a steady income and break financial barriers at home. Please support this campaign by entering the amount you wish to contribute using a Credit/Debit card, Net-banking, etc. Contributing to the campaign has 80G tax benefits. You will also get a report on how funds were used by Shimit Foundation. Foreign contribution is not allowed. Let us empower women economically
In India, women from low-income backgrounds often remain unskilled due to limited access to quality education and vocational training, societal norms that prioritise domestic roles over professional pursuits, and economic constraints that force them to prioritise immediate income over skill development. Even when skilled, these women often struggle to secure skill-based jobs due to lack of networks, mobility constraints, and discriminatory hiring practices. Hurdles they face include limited access to resources, lack of childcare support, safety concerns, and societal pressure to prioritise family responsibilities. Additionally, they may lack formal education credentials, making it harder to compete in the job market. These barriers perpetuate the cycle of poverty and limit opportunities for economic mobility, underscoring the need for targeted interventions to support women's skill development and employment in India.
Shimit Foundation's skill training centre is empowering women from low-income backgrounds by providing them with comprehensive training in stitching clothes, equipping them with 25 sewing machines to train 100 women. The centre will bring in expert trainers to teach various stitching techniques, and also provide meals during training. Post-training, the NGO will facilitate orders and offer flexible work arrangements, allowing women to either work from the centre or set up home-based stitching units. This initiative will enable women to acquire a valuable skill, earn a steady income, and break financial barriers at home. As they become financially independent, they'll contribute to their household income, improving their family's living standards and overall well-being, ultimately transforming their lives and futures. This will have a positive impact on the household, fostering economic stability and growth.
Shimit Foundation empowers rural communities by providing basic necessities, education, and opportunities, focusing on zero hunger and women empowerment to create lasting positive change and sustainable development in India.
Shimit Foundation will utilise funds for sewing machines, trainer fees, food, rental space, electricity, and administrative expenses to support women's skill development and empowerment programs effectively and sustainably.
