I am volunteering with Apple Valley Special School to raise awareness and funds to provide education, vocational training, & livelihoods to individuals with special needs Children and adults with special needs in India face significant barriers to education and employment due to inadequate infrastructure, social stigma, and limited access to support services and resources. Please support this campaign by entering the amount you wish to contribute using a Credit/Debit card, Net-banking, etc. Contributing to the campaign has 80G tax benefits. Funds will be transparently utilised to establish a special needs center, covering infrastructure, staff salaries, therapy equipment, and operational costs to provide holistic support and empowerment for individuals with special needs. In India, particularly in Chennai and Tamil Nadu, children with special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities, face significant barriers to education and vocational opportunities. With approximately 2.68 crore people living with disabilities nationwide, the demand for support services far exceeds supply. Fewer than 15% of children with special needs in Chennai receive structured education or training, and 80% drop out of school before Class 10. Limited government funding, social stigma, and a shortage of trained special educators exacerbate the issue, leaving families struggling to access essential services and support for their children's development and future independence.
Apple Valley Special School aims to provide comprehensive support for children and adults with special needs through a multi-faceted approach. This includes establishing special schools and therapy centers, vocational training programs, and inclusive education initiatives. The organization also offers scholarships and subsidized therapies for economically weaker families, while leveraging technology to enhance learning. Additionally, it empowers parents through counseling and support groups, and plans to develop a self-sustained ecosystem with an all-inclusive campus and livelihood projects. The goal is to create a holistic environment that fosters learning, work, and social integration for individuals with special needs.
Apple Valley Center for Special Kids in Chennai provides comprehensive support for children with Autism, ADHD, and other special needs, offering therapies, education, and vocational training for independence and holistic development.
